Biofilms are formed by communities of microorganisms which secrete a polymeric extracellular matrix. Biofilm formation has important impacts on medicine and food industry.
I am currently involved in a project to characterize mechanic properties and microrheology of P. fluorescens biofilms from a multidisciplinary approach. The project has been granted by Universidad Complutense de Madrid and it is directed by Iván López Montero. I collaborate with Chantal Valeriani, Belén Orgaz, María Ángeles Canales e Iván López, all colleagues from UCM.
This is my first publication on this topic:
- Self-Adaptation of Pseudomonas fluorescens Biofilms to Hydrodynamic Stress
